Mobility and International PhD Mention

There is the possibility of obtaining the International PhD Mention [Introduce link https://www.ucm.es/doctoral-school/international-mention], which offers an additional mark of quality to a thesis and is something valued by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (Agencia Nacional de Evaluación de la Calidad y Acreditación, ANECA). As reported in the inaugural session of the doctoral programme, there are numerous calls for mobility grants (see, among others: https://www.ucm.es/convocatoria-alumnos) that can facilitate the minimum three months of mobility abroad (they can be divided into two separate stays) that are required, among other things, to obtain the International PhD Mention.

You could, for example, carry out a stay at Harvard (we have precedents). Our Faculty of Statistical Studies has promoted the creation of the "Study Group in Data Science at the Real Colegio Complutense" of Harvard University:

It can be reached with different scholarships from the Real Colegio Complutense of Harvard University (https://rcc.harvard.edu/opportunities).

There are also precedents for stays in Berkeley. There is a very interesting agreement between the UCM and 9 universities in California: https://www.ucm.es/ucm-california

In addition, there are almost 300 "Erasmus internship" scholarships at the UCM which can be used for research stays in a foreign EU country and which can also be found on the following website: https://www.ucm.es/convocatoria-alumnos
