1. Call for Applications 2026
The 2026 Extraordinary Doctorate Awards allow applications from students who defended their theses in the 2024–2025 academic year, specifically from October 15, 2024 to October 14, 2025, in the Doctoral Program in Data Analysis (Data Science). All candidates must have obtained a grade of Outstanding Cum Laude for their thesis in order to participate.
Candidates must follow the general UCM instructions, which can be found here: https://edoctorado.ucm.es/pex, submitting all documentation electronically. The assessment criteria are included in the regulations approved by the Faculty of Statistical Studies. Candidates should also take into account the deadlines for submitting and tracking their documentation. Candidates will be evaluated by a Committee appointed for this purpose, in accordance with the regulations approved by the Faculty of Statistical Studies.
2. Procedure:
Candidates for the Extraordinary Award must:
- Submit an application request through the UCM electronic office, following these instructions, within the established deadlines. Note that the application form available at: https://edoctorado.ucm.es/pex must be attached to this electronic submission and must include the approval of the thesis supervisor or, failing that, the coordinator of the doctoral program in which the thesis was defended.
- Send the remaining required documentation to the student administration office email: salestad@ucm.es, within the established deadlines. This documentation includes:
- An electronic copy of the thesis.
- Curriculum vitae, following the standardized template available on this website: https://edoctorado.ucm.es/pex. The CV should detail the academic activities carried out during the doctoral studies and the period during which the doctoral thesis was completed.
- Self-assessment file in Excel, duly completed.
