Access requirements
In accordance with Article 6 of Royal Decree 99/2011, and its implementation by UCM in BOUC No. 14, of December 21, 2012, as a general rule, in order to access an official doctoral program it is necessary to be in one of the following situations:

Hold official Spanish Bachelor's (Grado) and University Master's degrees, or their equivalent.

Hold an official university degree of Licenciado, Architect, or Engineer issued by a Spanish university, or recognized (homologated) by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

Hold an official Spanish university degree, or one from another country within the European Higher Education Area, that grants access to a Master's program in accordance with Article 16 of Royal Decree 1393/2007 of October 29, and have completed a minimum of 300 ECTS credits in official university studies, of which at least 60 must be at the level of an official University Master's degree.

Hold an official Spanish Bachelor's degree whose duration, in accordance with European Union regulations, is at least 300 ECTS credits.

University graduates who, after obtaining a training position through the corresponding competitive examination for specialized health training positions, have successfully completed at least two years of a training program leading to an official qualification in one of the Health Sciences specialties (MIR, BIR, FIR, etc.).

Hold a degree obtained under foreign education systems, without the need for formal recognition, provided that the university verifies that it certifies a level of education equivalent to that of an official Spanish University Master's degree and that it qualifies the holder for access to doctoral studies in the country where it was issued.

Hold another Spanish Doctoral degree obtained under previous university regulations.

Hold the Diploma of Advanced Studies obtained in accordance with Royal Decree 778/1998 of April 30, or have achieved research proficiency as regulated in Royal Decree 185/1985 of January 23.
Doctoral programs may include additional requirements and criteria for admission and selection, as well as the requirement to complete additional training. Specifically, the Doctoral Program "Data Analysis (Data Science)" establishes the entry profile described here.
Doctoral candidates must apply for admission to a doctoral program through the Academic Committee, which is responsible for the procedure. See the admission criteria for the Doctoral Program "Data Analysis (Data Science)". The admission process will be based on the principles of merit, equality, and ability. In any case, there will be an appeals committee under the authority of the Vice-Rectorate responsible for postgraduate studies.
Applications from students who meet the above requirements will be evaluated by the Academic Committee. Applications must indicate whether the student wishes to pursue the thesis on a part-time or full-time basis.
